Buddha’s Enlightenment Day Celebration and potluck Sunday May 6 at 10:30am
The whole community will join for a Celebration of Shakyamuni Buddha’s Enlightenment Day where we honor his birth, enlightenment and parinirvana (death). The Vipassana, Zen, and Vajrayana groups will contribute readings, chants, etc. All invited. Bring flowers and food to share for a potluck following the festivities. Sitting with Daniel Terragno Roshi 7:30am May 19 Daniel will join us for zen meditation, and a simple breakfast afterwards. Please note that there will not be an allday zen sit this month. Work Practice. May 13.
Each second weekend of the month the Center holds work practice following the morning meditation: a mindfulness and awareness practice in silence. Working for about 30 minutes in the garden and in the house is a wonderful opportunity to support and sustain the Center while engaging in practice off the cushion. All are welcome to help!

This is a good place to start. Orientation to the Center & basic instruction in meditation, the most universal Buddhist practice.
Paramitas Discussion. May 5 and 26.
Discussion to follow Zen meditation. Last Saturday of the month, discussion among sangha; first Saturday of the month, Teacher Daniel Terragno is Skyped in to continue discussion.
Dharma Center Book Group Thursdays at 7:45pm The Holy Teaching of Vimalakirti translated by Robert Thurman. The group will begin April 12th with Robert and Dianeah as discussion leaders. For futher information call 767-1034
Family Hour Sundays at 11:00am Family Hour begins September 4th at 11am and will continue for the first 4 Sundays of every month. Melissa Heston will lead the group. Children of all ages are welcome along with their parents, grandparents and care takers. Family hour develops a rich atmosphere of participation and connection through story, song, breath and movement practices that encourage attention, concentration, compassion and joy in a strictly non-dogmatic atmosphere. Gardening Fridays at 7:45am Every Friday, throughout the spring and summer, there is gardening after morning meditation and tea. Tea is at 7:45am following meditation, and gardening begins at 8:15am. Please bring tools and garden gloves if you have them. All are welcome.
