In addition to regular Zen and Vipassana meditation on Saturdays and Sundays, the three practice groups frequently offer longer half-day retreats.
Vipassana half-day retreats are scheduled on the last sunday of the month in those months when there is a fifth Sunday.
We start with our regular sitting meditation from 8:00 to 9:00 AM, closing with the Metta chant. At 9:00 AM we begin alternating periods of walking and sitting meditation. Lunch is from 12:00 to 12:15, eaten in silence (please bring your lunch). From 12:15 to 1:00 PM, we listen to a recorded Dharma talk, discuss as time allows, and then close with the chant “Act of Sharing Merit.” Participants may enter and depart at other than the scheduled beginning and ending times, remembering to be considerate of others in meditation. These retreats are free, and all are welcome. Please join us!
